Build with Perception Agents — Emile Baizel & Shruti Arora, Amazon AGI Lab

AI Engineer · Oct 11, 2026 · Engineering Insights

Amazon AGI Lab builds perception agents that operate across browsers, mobile, and desktop environments.

“If my agent works 50% of the time, he doesn't work at all.”

Amazon AGI Lab presented a workshop on perception agents at AI Engineer, outlining their three-pillar philosophy: cooperation (agents as partners, not black boxes), perception (multi-device environment awareness), and reliability (agents trained in simulated RL environments grounded in real customer use cases). The session introduced Amazon Nova Act and demonstrated how AGI Lab closes the loop between customer deployments and model training. The reliability framing—50% uptime means zero utility—is a useful practitioner signal but the content is largely introductory workshop material without major new announcements.
