Databricks demoed Genie 1, an AI analytics interface that moves beyond SQL generation to incorporate unstructured organizational knowledge from emails, SharePoint, Confluence, and other sources alongside structured data. The system uses ontology-derived knowledge fragments and domain-organized assets to answer broad business questions without requiring users to consult multiple teams. While a meaningful enterprise AI capability demo, it is a product walkthrough rather than a new launch announcement.
