The Burrito Bot - AI-Powered Search in SQL Server 2025 | MVP Unplugged
SQL Server 2025 adds native vector search enabling semantic, meaning-based queries beyond keyword matching.
“But vector search is completely different uh in the sense uh that it really is a search for meaning.”
An MVP Unplugged episode demonstrates SQL Server 2025's new vector search, vector index, and embedding-generation capabilities through a demo 'burrito bot' that searches by semantic meaning rather than keywords. It frames vector search as a way to improve AI model outputs (e.g., via RAG) rather than train models. The signal is a useful product capability update but is developer-education content rather than a major industry-shaping announcement.
