How BharatGen is building India AI with NVIDIA Nemotron
India's BharatGen launched government-owned multilingual AI models across 22 languages, backed by NVIDIA Nemotron.

BharatGen, an IIT Bombay-led consortium backed by India's national AI Mission, has launched government-owned multilingual AI models covering text in 12 languages and speech in 22 languages, with the Prime Minister presiding over the launch. The initiative received 235 crore in funding for models up to 10B parameters and has applied for a second phase targeting 1 trillion parameters. Built on NVIDIA's Nemotron/Nemo stack, the models are already being deployed in healthcare, education, finance, and state government applications, making this a significant data point in the global sovereign AI race.
