The creators of MCPUI announced MCP Apps, now an official MCP extension co-developed with Anthropic and OpenAI, which lets services embed their branded, interactive UIs directly into AI chat interfaces rather than returning plain text. The spec already has adoption across Claude, VS Code, ChatGPT, Slack, and others, solving a key enterprise blocker: companies losing brand identity when exposing data through MCP servers. This represents a meaningful convergence point for the agentic web, with the two dominant AI labs aligning on a shared UI-over-MCP standard.
