Databricks partnered with AVL to release Impulse, an open-source declarative time-series analytics framework that standardizes petabyte-scale automotive telemetry in a Databricks lakehouse silver layer, letting engineers query it in about 10 lines of Python. It matters as a vertical data-engineering tooling play for software-defined vehicles, but the AI signal is tangential rather than a core industry development.
