Building real-time vision & edge navigation with Gemini Live
Google built an autonomous Gemini-powered plant robot in two weeks using multiple Gemini models
“That's what's amazing about Gemini is the velocity you can get with your project.”
Google I/O showcased 'Sprout,' a Monstera plant mounted on a TurtleBot 4 that autonomously navigates to find light and requests water, built in roughly two weeks using Gemini Flash for vision, Gemini Live for voice, and ER 2.0 for segmentation. The demo highlights the composability of multiple Gemini models in a single real-world robotic application. While a novelty project, it demonstrates practical edge/vision AI velocity enabled by the Gemini stack.
