Build the Right Thing: Product Engineering (Part 1) — Kent C. Dodds, EpicProduct.engineer
Engineers now self-identify as 'individual contributors' who manage coding agents, not write code
“managing the agents who write it”
This content is the opening minutes of Kent C. Dodds' product engineering workshop at AI Engineer, consisting almost entirely of audience warm-up and logistics. The only notable signal is a throwaway audience poll redefining 'individual contributor' to include engineers who manage AI coding agents rather than writing code themselves. No substantive product engineering content has been delivered yet.
