What's new in Microsoft SQL at SQLCon/FabCon Barcelona 2026 | Data Exposed
Microsoft SQL agent skills launched in public preview for AI-assisted database migration and management
“think of it like a repository that has a bunch of custom curated and uh validated skills from the Microsoft SQL team to help you do things like in this case uh assess, remediate, validate, migrate”
At SQLCon/FabCon Barcelona 2026, Microsoft announced a suite of SQL agent skills now in public preview — a curated repository of validated AI skills for assessing, remediating, and migrating to Azure SQL. Additional announcements covered Hyperscale migration from Azure Arc, Azure Local for on-premises EU deployments, and SQL Server on Linux bulk insert support. The agent skills launch is the primary AI signal, though the content is heavily SQL infrastructure-focused rather than AI-first.
