The Etsy Gifting Assistant: From Prototype to Production | Interrupt 26
Etsy built a production gifting agent on LangChain with a thin ReAct harness that drove high purchase rates.
“What we found was that it returns high-quality search results with a relatively thin harness”
An Etsy GenAI engineer detailed building a production gifting assistant on a LangChain v1 ReAct agent, solving reliability issues like tool-call 'spin' and ID hallucination via middleware, plus a socket-passing pattern for streaming. It matters as a concrete engineering playbook for taking agents from prototype to production, though it is company-specific rather than a broad industry signal.
