Agentic AI's autonomous reasoning has driven compute demand 100-1000x higher, going 'parabolic,' says Jensen Huang.
“One engineer, a really good engineer today is working with an agent, but a really great engineer in the future is going to be orchestrating a whole bunch of agents who are going to be orchestrating a whole bunch of sub aents to do work.”
At Dell Technologies World 2026, NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang argued that the shift from generative to agentic AI has pushed compute requirements up 100x-1000x because agents run autonomously for extended periods, reasoning and using tools rather than just answering queries. He framed this as the reason demand is going 'parabolic' and predicted top engineers will soon orchestrate fleets of agents and sub-agents. It matters because it ties NVIDIA's growth narrative directly to agentic workloads and signals a structural change in software engineering labor.
