Use any LLM through one Swift API
Apple's Foundation Models Framework now lets apps call any server LLM, including Claude and Gemini, via one Swift API.

Apple is extending its Foundation Models Framework so developers can call server models like Claude and Gemini through a single Swift API, with any provider able to ship a Swift package conforming to the language model protocol. It also opens free access to Apple's own model on Private Cloud Compute. This positions iOS as a neutral distribution layer for third-party LLMs, making Apple a significant gateway for model providers.
