Agents That Write Their Own Tools at Runtime — Sandhya Subramani, AWS
AWS engineer demos agents that write and load new tools at runtime without restarting
“imagine if your agent was smart enough to realize, 'Oh, there's a mistake here. Something's not working. I'm getting an error. I need to fix myself.'”
Sandhya Subramani from AWS demonstrated an agent architecture where agents dynamically generate and register new tools at runtime in response to task demands, without stopping or restarting. The demo showed a tool-less agent that, when asked a math question, wrote its own calculator tool and immediately used it in the same session. This points toward self-healing, self-extending agent systems that reduce the need for human intervention in production failures.
