GitHub Agentic Workflows: Automation That Actually Reads the Room | DEM350
GitHub is launching Agentic Workflows in public preview, letting developers define automation in markdown instead of YAML.
“instead of having to know YAML for actions, you can define your workflows in markdown, you can even use copilot to create those markdown files that then can be compiled into an agentic workflow”
GitHub announced Agentic Workflows at Microsoft Build, a feature that lets developers define CI/CD automation in markdown rather than YAML, with workflows compiled and powered by models like Copilot, Claude, Codex, or Gemini to triage test failures, open PRs, and generate reports. It enters public preview the following week. It matters because it lowers the barrier to repo automation and embeds model-driven agents directly into the developer toolchain.
