Anthropic's Claude Opus 5.5 and Sonnet 5.5 are now accessible in AWS GovCloud (US) Regions via Amazon Bedrock, unlocking AI-assisted development for organizations with strict regulatory requirements including ITAR, FedRAMP Class D, and DoD IL4/IL5. Claude Code, Anthropic's agentic coding tool, can now run against these compliant endpoints, bringing AI coding assistance into sensitive government and defense workloads for the first time. This is a meaningful expansion of the enterprise AI addressable market into a segment that has historically been locked out of frontier model access.
