AWS announced general availability of Web Search on Amazon Bedrock, a native server-side tool that grounds foundation model responses in current web knowledge without requiring third-party search providers. The feature uses Amazon's own web index (billions of documents) plus a knowledge graph, activated via a single API parameter in the OpenAI-compatible Responses API. This matters because it removes a key integration friction point for enterprise AI agents while keeping data within AWS infrastructure for compliance purposes.
