Amazon Web Services launched a way to connect Claude Desktop to a fully managed web search capability through Amazon Bedrock AgentCore Gateway, using MCP as the integration layer. The solution is backed by an Amazon web index of tens of billions of documents and keeps all query traffic inside AWS infrastructure using JWT authentication tied to IAM Identity Center. This matters as it addresses the training data cutoff limitation for enterprise Claude Desktop users without requiring third-party search API keys.
