Amazon Web Services has launched agentic retrieval for Bedrock Managed Knowledge Bases, introducing an AgenticRetrieveStream API that decomposes multi-part queries into sub-searches and iterates until sufficient evidence is gathered. This addresses a known limitation of single-shot vector retrieval on comparative and exploratory questions. The feature matters because it productizes a common DIY pattern—custom agent loops over the Retrieve API—making agentic RAG accessible without custom orchestration code.
