Claude Opus 5.5 generates pixel art animations from photos via simple prompts

Simon Willison used Claude Opus 5.5 to generate an HTML5 canvas pixel art animation from reference photos, then used Claude Code with Playwright to record a video of the result for a keynote presentation. The workflow demonstrates Claude's multimodal image-to-code generation and Claude Code's browser automation capabilities. While a fun engineering demo, it is a personal anecdote rather than a major industry signal.
