One month after their expanded partnership, AWS made OpenAI's frontier GPT-5.5/5.4 models and the Codex coding agent generally available on Amazon Bedrock at OpenAI's first-party per-token rates, with usage counting toward existing AWS commitments. This deepens the OpenAI-AWS distribution relationship and gives enterprises a production path to frontier OpenAI models inside AWS governance controls (IAM, VPC, KMS, CloudTrail). It matters as a sign that frontier-model access is increasingly multi-cloud rather than locked to a single hyperscaler.
