Pi 1.0 and Pi Durable launch durable, crash-resistant AI agent runtime in TypeScript
“Every step is recorded as a checkpointed task. If a process fails or restarts, agents and subagents automatically resume from their last exact state.”
Earendil released Pi 1.0 and Pi Durable, a TypeScript-based AI agent harness with crash-survival checkpointing, pluggable storage backends, hot-swappable tools, and multiplayer state sync. Pi Durable externalizes all stateful components so agents can resume mid-task after failures, run concurrently, and be deployed anywhere with a JS runtime. This matters because durable, portable agent execution is a key unsolved problem in production AI engineering.
