Building trust in AI agents: A production-ready evaluation framework with Amazon Bedrock AgentCore
AWS built a continuous evaluation framework after AI agents hallucinated $410 as $410 million in production testing
“Where traditional software fails loudly, agents fail softly. They return an answer that looks confident, reads fluently, and is wrong.”
AWS's SMGS Operations team discovered critical hallucinations in their multi-agent sales intelligence system during pre-production testing — including revenue figures inflated by a factor of one million — prompting development of a continuous quality evaluation loop using Amazon Bedrock AgentCore. The post highlights that coordinated release mismatches (data, prompt, and code changes landing at different times) alone dropped agent pass rates from 78% to 38% in testing. The framework treats quality as a continuous operating concern rather than a final QA gate, a model increasingly relevant as enterprises scale agentic deployments.
