Meta unveils IcePack, IceCube 102.4T switch, and MetaRoCE protocol for gigawatt-scale AI clusters
Meta announced a suite of open networking innovations at OCP Summit 2026, including its first liquid-cooled network rack (IcePack), a 102.4T switch platform (IceCube), the Flattened Planar Fabric multiplane scale-out architecture, and an open-source AI transport protocol called MetaRoCE. These are designed to support gigawatt-scale AI clusters running Meta's Muse AI models and personal AI agent. By launching the Open Switch Platform Architecture (OSPA) initiative within OCP, Meta is pushing the industry toward open, standardized AI networking infrastructure.
