AWS multi-agent Bedrock system uses Claude Haiku 4.5 to outperform single-model insurance document classification

“In our testing, single-model approaches struggled with edge cases and complex documents that require both textual and visual analysis.”

AWS published a technical tutorial demonstrating a three-agent document classification pipeline on Amazon Bedrock, combining Claude Haiku 4.5 for textual reasoning with Amazon Titan Multimodal Embeddings for visual layout pattern recognition. The Strands Agents SDK orchestrates the agents-as-tools pattern, allowing a Validation Agent to adjudicate between specialist outputs without custom orchestration code. While the insurance use case is narrow, the architecture validates multi-agent coordination as a practical pattern for enterprise document workflows where single-model approaches hit accuracy ceilings.
