SharePoint Framework (SPFx) roadmap update – August 2026
Microsoft opens Copilot Components public preview in SharePoint Framework, targeting October 2026 GA.
“Instead of a text-only answer, your agent can bring a real UI – cards, forms, actions, and business data – into the conversation.”
Microsoft shipped SPFx 1.24 Beta 3 with Copilot Components (renamed from SharePoint Copilot Apps) now in public preview, letting developers embed rich React UIs directly into Copilot conversations via MCP Apps. GA is targeted for October 2026. This is incremental enterprise developer tooling progress rather than a broad AI industry signal, with limited relevance outside the Microsoft 365 ecosystem.
